Multiple audiences: Keep your various audience types separate using audiences. Each audience is completely independent with its own set of profile fields, forms, and more.
Custom identifier: Email addresses are great for uniqueness, until they’re not. You can select one or more fields to uniquely identify each contact. This can be a unique account ID, customer ID and warranty ID, or any other fields you create to uniquely identify a contact, which can result in duplicate email address, which is typically the goal in these cases.
Unsubscribes: Since each audience is completely separate, a dealer, who is also a customer, can opt-out of a customer audience but still remain in the dealer audience.
